Sociology as a subject was introduced in the college in the year 1989. DAV College is the only institution which offers Sociology as  a subject in Yamuna Nagar. It started with a meager strength of 6 students which arose upto 180  in the session 2007-2008. ‘Social Problems’ and ‘an Indian society' are offered as options in B.A. III. Sociology, being an interesting subject is very popular for competitive examinations and has practical applications.
